Access to Movement is a community-focused project helping people use movement to support their mental wellbeing.
We believe exercise does not have to be about performance, appearance or competition. It can be about feeling calmer, more confident, more connected and more in control. Our aim is to make movement feel accessible, welcoming and achievable for people who may face barriers to getting started.
Why it matters
Mental health support looks different for everyone. Movement is not a replacement for professional care, but it can be a powerful part of a wider approach to wellbeing.
Through activity, community and encouragement, Access to Movement helps people take positive steps towards better mental health.
What we do
We are building opportunities that make movement easier to access, including:
- Community fitness classes and movement sessions.
- Fundraising events and local challenges.
- Personal training and wellbeing support for people experiencing mental health challenges.
- Future digital tools to help people stay motivated and connected.
Working with West Kent Mind
Access to Movement is working as a Changemaker in partnership with West Kent Mind to raise awareness, support local wellbeing and help funded opportunities reach those who could benefit most.
